Startup OLÉ Salamanca: The Ecosystem Networking Hub Is Coming

If you’re an entrepreneur, investor or tech leader, mark your calendars for October 8-10, 2024, because Startup OLÉ is set to transform once again Salamanca into the nerve center of Spain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Held in the picturesque town of Salamanca, this event is not the classical tech show. If you want to connect with the movers and shakers of the Spanish and Ibero-American startup scene, well… this is your golden opportunity.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss Startup OLÉ

If you are looking for flashy lights, grand displays and over the top world class showcases, this is NOT your place to be. Salamanca’s Startup OLÉ is renowned for their “simplicity” on bringing together the decision makers of the startup world on a completely FREE attendance event.

Here’s our top 3 reasons why you should make it a priority:

1. A Who’s Who of the Spanish and International Startup Scene: This event attracts top investors, corporate leaders, public officials, and startup founders mainly from Spain but also from across Ibero-America, Europe, and the USA. You’ll find representatives from major corporations like Iberdrola and Acciona to government institutions from Spain like Madrid, Salamanca, Andalucia and distiguish international institutions such as the Johns Hopkins University and more.

2. Engaging Activities: With activities designed to foster interaction, from round tables and plenary talks to pitch competitions and business rounds, you’ll have the chance to meet and engage with key players in the industry. Expect forums on investment, cybersecurity, rural innovation, and much more. The event also includes a hackathon, startup fair, and various networking activities such as cocktails and concerts, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. The intimate setting of Salamanca’s Palacio de Congresos and Colegio Arzobispo Fonseca provides the perfect backdrop for invaluable exchanges.

3. Collaborative Environment: Last but not least, Startup OLÉ is known for its familiar atmosphere, where the energy is always positive. The people are not only interesting but also friendly and open to business. The event fosters a welcoming environment, making everyone feel at home and encouraging engaging conversations.

Startup OLÉ Highlights

In the sunny setting of Marbella, some of best tech world’s innovators came together for a fast-paced event full of activities and networking. The hackathon, a 48-hour sprint, had developers and innovators working in teams to solve real-world problems. The intense atmosphere brought people together, showcasing the startup community’s creativity. Teams presented their solutions, revealing the endless possibilities of tech innovation. This energy carried over to the pitch competitions, where startups pitched their ideas to investors and industry leaders. With funding and valuable feedback on the line, winning startups gained awards and investment offers, boosting their growth and visibility in the tech scene.

The matchmaking arena was a hotspot for networking, with pre-scheduled meetings between startups, investors, and corporate reps. This setup ensured productive and goal-oriented connections. Travel discounts from Iberia and Renfe made it easy for attendees to get to Marbella, while special accommodation rates ensured a comfortable stay. These efforts brought a diverse, international crowd to the event, turning Marbella into a hub of tech innovation and collaboration.

Pitch Competition Winners

In addition, a pitch competition was held, in which EDTEK emerged as the big winner of this competition; COBIOMIC and PROSFY came second and third, respectively. These three winning startups received tickets to participate in a European event to be confirmed by CIBER-SHUBE; interviews on the national Startup OLÉ and international Startup OLÉ Iberoamérica radio programmes; and free access and stand tickets for Startup OLÉ Salamanca ’24, to be held from 8 to 10 October, and Startup OLÉ Miami ’25, to be held from 24 to 25 March.
