AiRelo at Hiring Success 2018 !

SmartRecruiters’ latest Hiring Success conference, the first European edition, happened on days 20-21of September, at Glashaus by the Spree river, one of the coolest spots in Berlin. During the 2-days-event, more than 200 attendees had the chance to connect, learn the last trends on the HR world and enjoy the last days of summer breeze before Autumn kicks in.

The slogan “You are who you hire” could not have fit better. Among the sessions in 3 different stages, a lot was spoken on how to find the best talents to supply the high demand in the tech industry. Another essential topic covered was how technology has changed how companies work, specifically in the Human Resources field. The keynote speakers shared some of the most innovative recruiting campaigns ever put together, and led an interactive workshop challenging left-brain functions to raise the bar on workplace creativity.

Still in the HR innovative solutions topic, Mario Paladini represented AiRelo in the Battle of the Bots, along with founders of Irish Recruiter, Jobpal and XORBOT. Artificial Intelligence is definitely a hot topic to save time & resources in the present and future HR processes.

The companies below are already using the white-label version of AiRelo, and our team is proving support with our Welcome package, helping to relocate onboarding employees.

AiRelo at Future of work of Zukunft Personal Europe 2018

Zukunft Personal returned this year from 11th-13th September 2018 in Cologne, Germany – Europe’s largest HR Management fair. GLOBAL’s team was proud to participate for the second time and introduce AiRelo in the “Startup Village”, a hub destinated especially for startups with digital solutions for companies.

Over the course of the three days, the focus was on innovative ideas and networking in the HR community with a spectrum of topics ranging from recruiting and personnel services to company training, leadership and employment law to personal software and the future of the working world.

Our team had the opportunity to demo AiRelo to worldwide HR leaders, decision-makers, and managers and to discuss how the future of HR is changing towards new technologies.

The next goal is to improve our technology to new users and help with all procedures of Onboarding employees, aiming to minimize the HR time-consuming process of dealing with relocation service providers or doing all the work by themselves. The future of work is all about technology and we’re on the right path!

AiRelo presenting @STARTUPNIGHT 2018

We were very proud to participate for the second time at the Startupnight, one of the largest and coolest startup events in Europe. It took place for the 6th time on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at Hauptstadtrepräsentanz, Berlin. More than 250 startups from around the world participated. You could find all kinds, like mobility, energy, communications, artificial intelligence, and fintech. They presented themselves to audiences, venture capitalists, and corporations.

This year’s program was slightly different from previous ones, in addition to the stage program, workshops for founders, and panel discussions. The start-ups were able to exhibit their products, innovations, and business ideas at four different locations and make valuable contacts in this context.

GLOBALs team was honored to introduce AiRelo to nearly 5000 attendees from all over the world as you can notice in our cool “City-Representative Banner”. There we had the opportunity to show how we’re making relocations to a new city easy. Many people tested our Bot on Facebook and tested the smart city registration.

The Startupnight is an initiative of Deutsche Telekom’s Telekom Open Space as a place for co-innovation, co-creation, and intrapreneurship. Founder Cem Ergün-Müller sees the established startup fair in a state of flux. “The Startupnight is increasingly becoming a development platform for start-ups. We bring them together with the corporations and VCs so that the next Unicorns say ‘we met at the Startupnight'”.

Why Chatbots are the Future

Chatbots? It may be hard to imagine, but they are taking over the world! You can use chatbots for a lot of different things. To do your registration in the city hall, to find out the weather forecast or even for life advice. But what exactly is a chatbot? I must admit, I knew next to nothing about them before I did some research. I presume this could be the case for many people out there, so simply read further, to become a chatbot expert!

So first things first, what is a chatbot?

A chatbot is a service, powered by rules and sometimes artificial intelligence. You can interact with the chatbot by an interface. You use a chatbot most of the time via a chat product. For example, Facebook Messenger and Slack.

So for example, when you use the chatbot AiRelo, you send the chatbot the message ‘Get Started’. The chatbot will respond to you, and ask you questions. When you have answered all questions, you will have a completed registration form for the city hall of Berlin. The chatbot helps you whilst interacting with you. It is so clever, that at times, you forget that you are chatting with a robot, and not a real person.

Additionally, there are also different types of chatbots. You can discern them from 3 types. The first type is the chatbot that strictly follows rules only. This kind of chatbot is not very smart. Whatever the bot has been programmed to do, is the only thing that it will know. The second kind of chatbot is the chatbot that uses machine learnings. It is, therefore, kind of smarter than the first one. This chatbot understands languages and you don’t have to say word for word what you mean, as the bot should be able to pick up the general meaning of your message. The last bot is the bot created with a specific purpose. Those bots are mostly used by stores, as they are used to help customers purchase something.

But what are the advantages of a chatbot?

So far chatbots seem like a nice idea, but what are the advantages? Why don’t we just stick to normal customer service? The following reasons will convince you to use chatbots.

1. Chatbots are available 24/7. This is a big advantage, because how many customer services can make this claim? If you have plenty of time on the weekend and want to do your registration for the city hall, but you can’t as the city hall is closed? Chatbots like AiRelo are never closed and will be able to help you register any day of the week.
2. It’s a lot cheaper for the companies. Normally companies can have a large number of customer service employees, which is not necessary when you have a chatbot that can do the same job.
3. A chatbot is programmed by the people who create it. Everything that a chatbot says is the same for each person who interacts with it. So you don’t have to deal with an impolite employee or someone who perhaps doesn’t treat all customers the same. With a chatbot, every customer is equal.
4. Lastly, I think one of the most important advantages, the bots do the boring work, that most people don’t feel like doing themselves. They simply make our lives easier.

Berlin is already a smart city and is becoming smarter every day. A lot of startups are established in Berlin, with their own smart innovative ideas. To be a smart city it is important to have some perfect ingredients, as in data, technological innovations, and renewable energy! Those technological skills create really great solutions. Chatbots have their own influence in smart cities. In Berlin, chatbots are created for different purposes. There is a chatbot that helps you register your new address and many others are already used much as customer service. The bots make the city smart, as they can help you at any time of the day, so you don’t ever have to worry about closing times again.

Smart City Berlin

Urban areas have always been a challenge for local governments. This is primarily due to the population increasing at a quicker rate than the quality of services the city can provide. Therefore, thanks to the implementation of numerous technologies, cities have managed to provide solutions to its population in real time. But how?

If you live in a technology-focused metropolis like Berlin, New York or LA, you’ve probably come across the term “Smart City” numerous times in the past few years. It sounds simple, but it actually refers to a collection of recent developments in energy, mobility, technology, and healthcare to improve the lives of its citizens.

By integrating Information and Community Technology (ICT) to the network of devices within a city, the quality, performance, and interactivity of urban services are heightened, while costs and resources are simultaneously reduced. Berlin, in particular, has become a noteworthy example of how a true “Smart City” operates in the world.

There are six different intercorrelated dimensions when considering a city “Smart”. These areas represent the main action fields to achieve the goal of a “Smart City”: sustainability, efficiency, and quality of life.

Not only is it important for a city to perform well within each sector, but it also needs proper intercorrelation between the different sectors.

For example, it is vital for a local government to commit to entrepreneurial education, but funding their innovative ideas will provide more citizens with benefits.

Even if there is room for improvements, Berlin is one of the highest ranked “Smart Cities”. Berlin is a city of research & innovation, and a hub for startups to get ideas and boost their projects. The local government commits making Berlin smarter with its “Smart City Berlin” strategy, which, according to Berlin Partner, aims to increase the resource’s efficiency and climate neutrality of Berlin by 2050 and create a pilot market for innovative applications.

“As a city with strong growth, Berlin requires networked, intelligent and holistic solutions to meet the challenges of the future. In global terms, Berlin may be ranked as a small metropolis, yet it offers optimal conditions for testing pilot strategies for solutions in clearly comprehensible and manageable structures, and scaling them for applications worldwide.”

On October 24th, we attended and spoke at the exciting Smart City Berlin conference for Corporates and Startups, organized by NUMA Berlin.

The event aimed to explore the future’s development toward a smart city in Berlin from several perspectives: how the digitalization of technologies will shape the administration of a city, how corporate solutions will improve various industries, and how startups will provide innovative and disruptive products for upgrading city life.

Some startups are even developing products to innovate the way a government operates to benefit both the government workers and the citizens. Products like this are helping cities like Berlin approach an era of e-governance – which is the digitalization of government processes in order to offer the state of Berlin enormous potential for more modern and productive services for orientation and citizenship within the public administration.

“Smart Urban Future” AiRelo at TEP Conference 2017, NYC

On October 10th, TEP Conference 2017 “Smart Urban Future” will have taken place in NYC for seven years in a row.

Every year, the TEP Conference brings together academics, policymakers, investors, media, international startups, and representatives from over 20 countries.

The aim of the event is to discuss and share opinions and knowledge about the challenges and opportunities that society, SME’s and larger corporations face around new deployed concepts. The result is an innovative, future-focused networking venue partnered with a forward-thinking conference.
