Introducing Elise

Hey there! I am happy to introduce myself as the newest member of Club GLOBALS. My name is Elise and I am following an internship in Marketing and Communication. I am following a bilingual education in Marketing and Communication in The Netherlands, I am now in the middle of my last year.

I moved to Barcelona because it is a great step toward independence. I am only 18 and was very curious about how a business operates outside of The Netherlands, the country I am used to. So when I found out I could follow my internship at Club GLOBALS I was very excited because I think you get to experience what it is like to use most things I learned in school put into practice

After I get my diploma I want to get my bachelor’s degree in communication or creative business (I haven’t decided yet).

In the future, I might want to start my own company or work for a big company in marketing and communications. But that is also something I haven’t decided on yet.

I look forward to spending the next four months at Club GLOBALS and working on upcoming events.

About us

GLOBALS was founded with the mission of making international life easier. It includes  GLOBALS’ services,  AiRelo, a smart city- registration assistant with a multi-city bot builder platform, and Club GLOBALS community, a marketplace with a curated directory and events. We alseo manage GLOBALS.tv for innovation, entrepreneurship an international life videos.

Our vision is to become the welcoming go-to community of global entrepreneurs. Which provides advice, connections and a trust based network as well as a marketplace that brings members and Solutioners together. Perfect for high-level professionals and entrepreneurs that recently relocated to a new city as well as every internationally minded person is invited to join.

Our events are unique gatherings to build and prosper that community. We produce pleasant events filled with sparkling speakers, thought-provoking panel discussions and stimulating conversation and networking. For that, Club GLOBALS Event`s goal is to spark conversation, connection and community on one hand. To make it happen we need volunteers, interns and partners to make it happen.

Work with us

As part of the marketing and community management team you will have to develop diverse tasks, but don’t worry no one is born with this knowledge, so we will assists you in everything you need and in this guide you will also learn how to use the tools that we use the most.

Being a Club GLOBALS team member can be an extraordinary experience. We licence you as a Club GLOBALS member as a volunteer, we are vesting in you a piece of our vision. That means it is your reposibility to make sure the vision and mission of Club GLOBALS events is protected and celebrated. 

Making our audience happy is essential for a successful event. But the devil is in the details, from the moment your guests receive invitations, to the minute they walk out of the event, they should feel like they’re experiencing something significant. Think of your audience’s needs every step of the way.

Your responsibilities:

• Content creation: Writing posts, articles, newsletters, and other communication material
• Social media marketing: Creating, managing and growing the company’s presence through blogs, twitter, facebook, and other strategically relevant online platforms
• Events management and planning
• Communications/marketing strategy: Assist us to create a better communication plan/campaign to increase our online community
• Give support in most urgent tasks
• Partnering, using strategies to get more partners for AiRelo and Club GLOBALS.

New team member at GLOBALS

Introduction

We are happy to introduce you Jordi from Catalonia. He is joining Globals.co for  6 months starting at the beginning of December 2019 thanks to an Erasmus Young Entrepreneur. Jordi is passionate about rural and international development, specially about co-creation, build communities, mobility and sharing economy. So, if you are on that, he will love to connect with you.

History

After his second university year He did an international volunteering service in Senegal, which gave him more points of view. Then, He got involved in an entrepreneurship program, which gave him the resources and knowledge to start a startup. These two experiences have driven him to what He is now; a social innovator and changemaker. When He realized that to make a deep impact, it must be cultural, He shifted his career, from renewable energies to Anthropology, but he’ve been working always for the same purpose; make a more connected, shared and sustainable world.

Projects

With the same NGO, He hacked the people, entities and governments of his county, the poorest region in Catalonia (the one with less immigrants and with more depopulation), to welcome refugees. They have welcomed the first refugee family from El Salvador. To make it grow, they will make it Open Source to spread it around, so people and NGOs from will be able to replicate the project.

His first social startup; Opportumeety, a digital platform for social networking on the go; it allows to share your events trips, connect with your communities around and by SDGs in common in airports, stations and public transports. But they are focused on events, where people usually travel the days before and after. They are going to launch next January 2020 and it’s a bootstrapped mobility start-up.

Closing

He is willing to learn about German market and culture, also learn about event and networking industry, the fields of his own startup. As he loves to meet meet people from other cultures, travel and events, he hopes to contribute, learn and enjoy a lot from this experience.

Salute GLOBALS !!

Hello GLOBALS family I am Efe Kart from Turkey! I started to work for Club GLOBALS 3 weeks ago. It will be a pleasure to take part in that team for the following 3 months.

I am a fresh Economics graduate from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. Having an Economics background gives you a chance to understand how global mechanisms run. In that sense, 4 years in my Bachelor’s degree was beneficial in order to figure out basic concepts by adopting them into real cases.

However, I believe in the power of practical experiences in life. That’s why I have been always trying to enhance my vision with supportive activities, like internships, projects, abroad adventures. I had various work experiences in fields of human resources, marketing, business development, corporate identity, and sales which provided to strengthen my mental capacity. In addition to that, they were so useful in order to clarify what I love and what I don’t as a field of work. Another positive aspect of those experiences was to know different human characteristics in different work environments. After all, the main result I point to as a moral was learning process shouldn’t be given up anytime.

I completed my Erasmus in Bosnia & Hercegovina 2 years ago. I had a chance to visit 17 countries and 46 cities within 5 months. Being on my way of becoming a global citizen, I feel very satisfied! Tasting different cultures, meeting with new friends, and generating a multicultural network.

In today’s global business world, conventional companies have been giving place to the new dynamic, sustainable and effective startups. Thereby, being in Berlin, continental Europe’s Silicon Valley, for working for social entrepreneurship was one of my dreams and it has an intense meaning to me. Furthermore, I want to create value for humanity and take responsibility in the process of sustainable development for the World. So, joining in Club GLOBALS and AiRelo is a great opportunity to observe expats’ problems and to ease their life extensively.

Consequently, I am very excited to work for Mario, collaborate with my colleagues, and broaden my horizons!!

Hello everyone!

My name is Emil (25 y.o.). I’m an Entrepreneur from Bulgaria, and I will be a part of the Club GLOBALS team for the next 6 months.

I have my own startup company, based in Sofia, Bulgaria and I have decided to grow my experience and participate in the program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. I chose to work with Mario Paladini at Club GLOBALS because I like the idea of making international life easier by connecting professional expats and global entrepreneurs.

I have studied Business Administration (BA) at HTW Berlin because I was passionate about business development, sales, digital marketing, and growth hacking.

Since I was passionate about digitalization and digital transformation, I have decided to start my own company. Time4U is an online booking platform for health and beauty salons, massage studios, and much.

We give our users the opportunity to choose from a variety of beauty services and book their wellness and beauty treatments online 24/7.

In addition, we offer a “Salon Manager”, which helps our salons to manage their reservations online in an easy and fast way, to win new customers and to expand their businesses, receiving online reservations from our platform.

For now, we have more than 150 salons registered in Bulgaria and the platform has the potential to be developed in the whole of Eastern Europe. The whole Time4U team will be very thankful if you share and follow us on our social media channels:

Priscila, welcome to the team!

Hello everyone,

My name is Priscila and I’m the newest member of the Club GLOBALS team in the Berlin office. I’ll be responsible for expanding the business and spreading the word on how GLOBALS creates products to make international life easier.  I have plenty of experience doing that since I’ve been working with expats for the past 5 years. Today I can say with confidence that I understand the difficulties someone faces when moving to a different country, and my greatest joy is to help people facing this challenge.

You’re probably wondering how I got here. I was born in Brazil and traveling has always been my passion. After I finished my Information Science degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, I decided to do an exchange abroad to improve my English. I enjoyed living in Dublin so much that I ended up staying there for almost 2 years, instead of the 6 months initial plan. Then I spent a season exploring my ancestors’ land: la Bella Italia. There, coincidentally (or not), I started what would be my future career in Mobility: I completed my citizenship process by myself, it wasn’t easy, but worth it.

Back in Brazil, I was determined to get a job in the Mobility sector. After a few calls and emails, finally a nice Argentinean decided to give me a chance and offered me the opportunity to work for Fiat. After all, I had recently come back from Italy and had a very strong awareness of how to deal with Italians. Some ups and downs, a season in Recife and then receiving a challenging offer: create an HR Mobility department from scratch in one of the biggest consulting companies in Brazil. Sao Paulo is definitely a must-live-once-in-life for those (like me) who love cosmopolitan, cultural and vibrant cities.  Being there for almost 3 years, I felt the need for change again, and my heart was telling me it was time to go back to Europe.

And here I am, in Berlin, this crazy, historical, hipster, and cool city! I’ve heard from several people since I arrived: It’s the place to be! I cannot find a better description.

I have been following Club GLOBALS since its creation and I’ve always admired Mario’s work and how passionately he ran the business. For me, GLOBALS is the ideal of what I’ve always believed Mobility should be; connect people and help make internationals’ life easier, plain and simple. I could not feel happier about being part of this community!

Meet Emma – Newest addition to the team

Hello! I’m pleased to introduce myself as the newest member of the Club GLOBALS team. My name is Emma and I will be undertaking an internship in Marketing, Community Development, and Growth Hacking. For the last two years, I have been studying at the University of Bristol in the UK, where I will return next year to complete my Bachelor degree.

Being half English and half Danish has meant that exploring new parts of the world, as well as learning about new cultures and meeting new people is something that I have always been very passionate about.

For this reason, I always knew that I wanted to go abroad as soon as the opportunity arose. The first time I visited Berlin, I knew that I wanted to live here and experience life as a local. Not only the fact that it is the capital city of Germany with such a vibrant atmosphere and endless things on offer. Also the fact that it is the home to so many different people from all over the world. When describing Berlin, there are always two words that spring to mind: multiculturalism and diversity.

This is where Club GLOBALS comes into the picture. The mission to connect expats in Berlin was something that stood out to me straight away, as not only can I relate as an expat myself but also feel that I would be a great asset to the team in helping other expats settle in this new city. In addition to this, I would describe myself as internationally open-minded, driven and passionate about networking with like-minded people. Club GLOBALS ticks all of these boxes with its desire to connect people in all possible ways.
